14/5/15 - Homework

I have given you all new activities in Activelearn to explore.

There are maths activities, a game about formal language (to carry on from our starters this week) and lots of new books in Bugclub.

Hopefully there are no longer any books that you have read before but if you do find some that you have previously read come and let me know and I'll de-allocate them for you!

VE Day

We have had lots of fun in school today. We have been celebrating VE day with drama, acting out scripts that we have written ourselves. We also made bunting in the afternoon which you can see hanging in the window of our activity area. It was lovely to see so many parents coming into the classroom and joining in, Mrs Brown and I were very impressed with your artistic skills!

I'm currently having problems uploading photographs of today but will hopefully have them up by early next week! Keep an eye out for them as the children have been working brilliantly and I know that you all want to see yourselves hard at work!

We have looked at  this week and will finish our work on this next week.
In maths we have looked at line and bar graphs. Next week we will be looking at 2D and 3D shapes before moving on to area and perimeter.

Homework is in your activelearn, there is maths and I have also set you a few spelling games to try out, let me know what you think of them!

Friday 1st May 2015

We've had a lot of fun this week in Class 4, we've started to work a new way in Maths, choosing our own level of challenge and the children have shown a fantastic attitude and desire to push themselves which has been amazing to see! We've been working on percentages this week and the class appear to have taken to this like ducks to water! Today we worked on a challenge using dice to see what % each dice was rolled from a set number of rolls.

We have finished our mystery stories and next week we will start looking at play scripts.

We have continued our work on plants in science.

We have also looked at atlases to find the countries named in the BFG.
