Singer and Rappers

This week the children have had a fantastic time in English writing and performing raps. The children first looked at an existing rap and tired to figure out the beat and how best to perform it. Following this, the children watched a video of 'The Michael Rosen Rap' and attempted to write something similar of their own. There were some fantastic outcomes.

Our focus on fractions has come to a close this week as the children will be completing a hot task tomorrow. They have done very well to persist and achieve in this area.

In theme we have been creating our final art piece for the baobab tree which we will finish tomorrow. The children decided upon which artistic medium they would use; water colour, pastels, pen or pencil.

A selection of the class also attended young voices this week and had a brilliant time.

Have a lovely half term everybody!

Performance Poetry and Painting

This week we have started a few new mini topics/units as we have finished discussions and looking at the geographical points of Madagascar. In English we have started poetry and the children were tasked with performing a poem to the rest of the class. The children were split into groups and had two lessons to prepare and perform. These turned out really well, we have a lot of potential drama students in the class....

We have continued our work on fractions in maths and have started looking at adding fractions. We will complete a hot task for fractions next week.

During theme we have been preparing to create an art piece centered around the baobab tree from Madagascar. The children have already practiced different artistic mediums (such as water colours, pencils and pastels) and have sketched the tree ready for the final piece next week. This is what we are attempting to replicate....
