Homework 21/1/15

This week's homework is to research and write a report about the differences between the geography of Essex (or the UK) and New Zealand. Think about comparing land use,  climate and terrain (think back to today's lesson). This is due in on Monday. Leave a comment about 1 thing you have learned on this blog once you have completed the task!

    I have found out that New Zealand's highest mountain is Mount Cook (3,754m) and the UK's highest mountain is Ben Nevis (1,344m).

  4. I have found out that arable own 1.76% of land , permanent crops own 0.27% of the land and other owns 97.98% of the land.

    I found out that New Zealand is about the size of Colorado, and the UK is slightly smaller than Oregon in America.

  11. I've found out that as New Zealand is closer to the equator it's winter days are longer and it's nights are shorter. I also found out that New Zealand winters, unless you live in mountains, are shorter, sunnier and warmer than the UK

  14. The New Zealand population is estimated to increase by one person every seven minutes and four seconds. The population is around four point four million people.
    The population in the United Kingdom is estimated at 64.1 million people.

  15. I've learnt that New Zealand has 2 glaciers called the Fox glacier and the Franz Josef glacier. New Zealand has an active volcanoe.The UK has none of these.

  18. That homework was awesome. The largest active volcano, Ruapehu, last erupted in 2007. You can actually ski on this volcano! CJ

  19. In NZ there is more sheep than people but in England there is no animal that is more populated than people

  21. I learned that New Zealand has a size of 103,737 square miles and a population of 4.5 million. England however has a size of 50,301 square miles and a population of 53.5 million. New Zealand is twice the size of England but doesn't even have a tenth of it's population!

  22. I learnt that the population of Essex was 1.393.587 million in 2011 and the population of New Zealand was 4.471 million in 2013
