Welcome to Class 4! I am very excited to announce that all the children and myself have had a fantastic first week back. I am so please to have started my time as Class 4's teacher with such a brilliant group of children. Although it was only the first week, we have been very busy. Here is a glimpse of what we have been up to...
During maths we have begun work on place value by looking at numbers all the way into the hundreds of thousands! The children have done very well in selecting their own challenges and completing a good amount of work. The children have also started using Jedi Mastery Robes for when they feel confident enough to teach something to the class.
During our theme lessons we have been looking at the Scots, Picts and Romans before delving into who the Anglo-Saxons were. We created timelines to get an idea of the chronology during this period in history and made posters warning our fellow Britons of the Saxon's arrival.
Lastly, the children spent some time familiarizing themselves with all members of staff...
I am very happy and proud with how the children have settled in this week. It has not taken them long at all to show what a great class they will be. I would also like to say how excited I am for this year and say a big thank you to all children, parents and staff for making me feel so welcome.
Jedi robes!? I'm usually never speechless but this has cracked me up! (In a good way)

It was really fun wearing a jedi robe because we got to teach the class as well. I really like my new class with Mr Easterbrook and all the year 4's. JB
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love the Jedi robes idea. What a great way to help the children with their confidence. Fab idea! Kelly Dacres
